Katian Choccelahua

Katian is the second of three children. She wants to be a Social Worker when she grows up. Her parents divorced when she was very young. Her mom works very hard to support them selling ice cream on the streets. One year ago, her mom had health issues for a few months, but now she is doing much better and she is back to her daily life.
Thank you Word Alive for supporting Katian so she can go to school.

The Alanya Family

They are 7 siblings. Their youngest is 13 months old and they named her Nancy Agustina honoring Nancy Waters and Agustina Hechart. Very cool, ha?

In this picture we see some of them with her grandma in the background. Their parents have been gone for the last two months because they are working on the fields harvesting coffee beans. Meanwhile they are staying with their grandmother.
Francisca, the tallest, is 15 years old and is in 10th grade. She wants to become either a nurse or an obstetrician when she finishes high school because she has seen her mom and her aunts to give birth without the help of a doctor. She is a great student.

This is Emerson posing with his brand new uniform.

Cristina and Emerson with ther grandmother standing at the front door of their house.

It is important to highlight the ministry of Victor and Cesar, coordinators of this work, that are constantly encouraging parents to send their children to school and to the children to do their best.

Carlos and Daniela Carhuamaca Matamoros

Carlos and Daniela are the youngest of 9 siblings. They are precious. Daniela helps her mom knitting. They also collect plastic bottles on the streets and then they sell them by the pound to recyclers. Both of them would like to become mine engineers when they grow up. When Victor -our coordinator in Peru- took this picture they told him that they were concerned because their parents were going through some marital problems. Please pray for them.

Sunday School

Every Sunday the children sponsored by WAIO get together at our headquarters in Chilca, Huancayo for a time of fellowship and spiritual instruction. Over 80 children are being nourished with the love of Christ and with a big glass of milk!

It is wonderful to see how excited the kids get every time they come to Sunday School.
Victor, Olga and Cesar are doing a great job!

Mónica Quispe Campos

Monica is in 6th grade. One year ago, she was emotionally depressed because her parents had split up. She stayed living with her mom and her 4 small brothers.

In this picture we see Monica with her mom, Gladys. They had just finished doing the laundry. Ms. Gladys said that if it weren't for Word Alive she wouldn't be able to send her daughter to school. The expenses to send a child to school in Peru are way too high to be covered by the meager income she is able to get knitting hats, gloves and scarves.

In this picture she shows us what she does to feed her five children.
She is so thankful for Word Alive's help to educate her children!
