Yomara's parents are migrant workers that used to work on the fields. They moved to Chilca, Huancayo a few years ago. Life has been rough for them. They have six children and four are in school age. Due to having very little work they weren't able to send any of their kids to school.
When Victor and Cesar got to know them, they offered them the help that WAIO wanted to provide for them. At first, they wouldn't believe Victor and Cesar. 'It was too good to be true'. But finally Yomara's parents gave in and agreed to receive this wonderful help.
As of today, Yomara has been attending school for the last 3 years. She is in 3rd grade and now her parents have a different perspective about the future of their family.
They buy and re-sell scrap to recyclers for a living. They work very hard every day and they want to improve their way of life. Yomara often walks the streets with them to help the family.
Regardless of the tough environment Yomara has had to grow up she wants to be a doctor when she finishes high school. She always attends our Sunday School meetings.
Her family is a living proof that God is changing the lives of many poor families here in Chilca, Huancayo through WAIO-Alabama. Thank God for our great family in Oxford, Alabama.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
